A Look Back to Where it all Began

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

As we celebrate 10 Years of The Hill School of Wilmington, we take a look back to where it all began.

In June 2008, a group of local parents and educators, including current board member Beth Chadwick and Executive Director, Susan Harrell, along with representatives from The Hill Center in Durham, held an information session at UNCW's Watson College of Education to discuss the possibility of opening a similar school in Wilmington. The session was such a success that by the next month a board of directors had formed and the school was well on its way to opening. In August 2010, the doors of The Hill School of Wilmington opened at its first location, St. James Parrish in Wilmington.

The information session description and flyer can be seen below. To learn more about our history, visit Our History page.
