Hill School of Wilmington Selected for 2020 Landfall Grant

Updated: Nov 12, 2020

Thank you to The Landfall Foundation for selecting The Hill School of Wilmington as a grant recipient for its 2020 grant cycle. The Technology Upgrade and Additions grant request, totaling $6,950, gives The Hill School the opportunity to increase the availability of assistive technology by upgrading and adding to laptops, Chromebooks, and iPads. This technology is crucial to the success of students with Learning Disabilities, as many research-supported applications available on these devices support the multisensory teaching methods used at The Hill School.

Students with LD have trouble inputting information through some of their senses so instruction needs to have elements of seeing, hearing, touching, and moving, which can be provided through assistive technology. These critical tools provide an interactive means to learn and teach, heighten student interest, and generate savings on space, paper, and time.

This is the twenty-fourth year the Landfall Foundation has been awarding grants to organizations in our community. The Hill School of Wilmington is a 501(c)3 nonprofit school for students with learning disabilities.
