Hill School Names Three Board Members; Receives $12,500 Eshelman Foundation Grant

The Hill School of Wilmington is excited to welcome three new board members for the 2026-27 school year: Stephanie Croom, Louise "Wesie" Sprunt, and David Summerlin. All three bring strong ties to our community and a genuine commitment to educational access.

Stephanie is a registered nurse and parent who discovered the transformative impact of Hill School through her son. Wesie, a former parent herself, understands firsthand the difference our school makes in families' lives. David is a commercial broker in Brunswick County whose son attended Hill School for four years. Together, they're joining our board because they believe in what we do.

We're also celebrating a $12,500 grant from the Eshelman Foundation to fund need-based scholarships. For the past decade, the Eshelman Foundation has been a trusted partner in helping us expand access to our evidence-based learning programs. This year, we're at full enrollment with a waiting list, which tells us how much our community needs specialized support for students with learning differences like dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.
