What Are You Thankful For?

We have a lot to be thankful for every day at The Hill School of Wilmington, but during the holidays we often find ourselves reflecting more on that gratitude. We decided to ask some of our students What are you thankful or grateful for in relation to being a student at The Hill School of Wilmington? We'll be sharing their responses through the month of November.

See below for what a few have said.

Emory: I am thankful for the Hill School because I have ADHD and the school that I used

to go to didn't recognize that so they taught me like everybody else but before I was

about to give up my parents enrolled me in the Hill School of Wilmington. It helped me

out so much and we have a saying at the Hill School called “don’t be a brick brain be a

bubble gum brain.” Yes, I have had trouble with kids in the past but I have just ignored

them and became good friends with them. I have been at the Hill School since the dawn

of time I’ve been here since 2nd grade and 7th grade. The Hill School goes through 1st

through 8th grad. I’m learning about as I'm typing this is physics and more fractions

and typing and please correct me because sometimes I’ll repeat myself over and over

and it gets annoying but anyway the Hill School is the best for kids with learning

differences like dyslexia, ADD, and ADHD.

"I am thankful for The Hill School of Wilmington because we get each other."

Cate: I am thankful for all of my friends and teachers. I love Hill School because they teach you in different ways because I have ADHD. I am thankful that we have a facility dog to help us get rid of stress. I love my teachers, I am glad that we have an afternoon class. I go there in the afternoon with my friends.

Jadelyn: I am thankful for all the support we have at the Hill School and for the welcoming feeling when you walk through the doors.

Weston: I am thankful for Hill School because of the individualized learning techniques and how I am learning in a way that is easier for me but learning what I need to know.
