Hill School welcomes new Executive Director

Posted August 11, 2016

The Hill School of Wilmington is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Mixon Harrell as the school's Executive Director.  Ms. Harrell brings with her over 30 years of experience in the field of education and is NC Certified in Exceptional Children/Learning Disabilities as well as certified by the Orton-Gillingham Academy.  She has served as a special education teacher in public and private schools and has tutored in a private practice for students with dyslexia.  Ms. Harrell comes to the Hill School from Cape Fear Academy where she served in many roles including Director of Admission and Director of Advancement.

"It is an honor to step into this role after six years of remarkable leadership by the school's founding director, Dr. Dawn Hodges. The Hill School is an asset to the greater Wilmington community. I look forward to working with our teaching team and board, as we not only benefit our students, but also serve as a community resource for the education of students with learning disabilities."
