Outreach Workshops

The Hill School of Wilmington is committed to providing education and services to students with learning disabilities and the communities that serve them. As part of that commitment, the school is proud to offer a series of workshops designed to promote awareness of and techniques to support the needs of struggling learners in southeastern North Carolina. These events are FREE and open to the public.

TECHNOLOGY TOOLS THAT SUPPORT STUDENTS

We had a wonderful turnout at our Technology Tools That Support Students outreach workshop held February 25th, at the UNCW Watson School of Education. This workshop was designed for parents to help them weed through the hundreds of apps and devices promoted to serve student learning. Ms. Whitley and Mr. Johnson presented ideas on ways to take the stress out of overwhelming assignments and help students utilize their individual strengths.

TWICE EXCEPTIONAL STUDENTS - WHO ARE THEY?

We had a great turnout at our Twice Exceptional Students - Who are they?  Outreach Workshop held November 10, 2015, at the UNCW Watson School of Education. Dr. Hodges spoke about how to recognize when giftedness and learning differences appear together and how parents and teachers can help these children.
