Great turnout for February Workshop!

Posted February 20, 2017

Wilmington area psychologist Dr. Thomas E. Mates, and Hill School teachers Mr. Lee Johnson and Ms. Nicole Whitley gave parents and educators a better understanding of what a learning difference looks like in the regular classroom, during our February 16th workshop held at UNCW. Simulations and hands-on activities provided participants with a clearer perspective of what their children and/or students experience  in the regular classroom. The reaction to the workshop was overwhelmingly positive with 100% of those answering our survey stating that they felt the 'presentation skills of the instructors' and the 'quality of the information presented' were both 'excellent.'  The Hill School of Wilmington is committed to providing education and services to students with learning disabilities and the communities that serve them.  As part of that commitment, the school is proud to offer a series of free community outreach workshops, such as this one, designed to promote awareness of and techniques to support the needs of struggling learners in southeastern North Carolina.  The Hill School of Wilmington will be hosting its next workshop, "Technology Tools that Support Students" on April 26th. Register here!
