Classroom Laptops Are Well-Received

Posted October 12, 2016

Thank you to our donors who have made it possible to purchase our first full set of classroom laptops. "Our students have learning disabilities and many of them struggle with letter formation. Giving students the skills they need to be more efficient with the keyboard allows them to focus on what they are trying to type, for example in an essay, versus struggling with the letter formation. Keyboarding tasks can be stressful for our students, but they are now more confident when they have a keyboarding task either here or at their base school," says Hill School teacher Lee Johnson.  Hill School students receive individualized instruction in classrooms of a 4:1 student to teacher ratio. Having a set of four laptops provides an entire classroom with a set of laptops. The laptops are able to be moved between our six classrooms as needed.
